Bio
Niccolò was born in Milan on August 28th, 1991. At the age of eight, a guitar left in a corner of the house intrigued him. He began to play with that long forgotten instrument for several afternoons holding it left-handed, then flipping the setting and starting to play right-handed, convinced that it would be easier to find a six-string to share that way . He started having lessons at the Civic School of Buccinasco, guided by Livio Boccioni.
Over the next seven years of musical studies, he’s been examining the use of guitar in blues and rock, crossing over to the pop territory, playing both acoustic and electric instruments. At twelve, he began performing live in a group of peers with a jazz repertoire. He definitely focused his sound and expressiveness over the following years opening up to new musical styles and discovering some referential American artists. Since his art school years , thanks to contacts with new young musicians, musical collaborations has increased, the number of live gigs has become as rich as the list of the bands he collaborates with, both in blues-rock (Main de Ghep, TakaBloo) and in funk-fusion (Zero Degree, Danaz Quartet). In the summer of 2009, he has attended the Clinics in Perugia the “Berklee College of Music”, where he got a diploma for the advanced level jazz guitar course. In the summer of 2010 he has taken part in a charity project for earthquake victims, with particular reference to the one in Haiti and to the children orphaned by that tragedy. He has participated as a guitarist and contributed to the arrangements to carry out the video-clip and the following concert at the Derby Theatre of Milan, raising funds to adopt Haitian children. He has created, written, arranged and produced the tribute to Fabrizio De André “A Drop of Splendor” show (Fabrizio sung by young people for young people), playing and singing with a band especially set up for the occasion. In 2013, his first album “The Gioconda Smile” is released, produced by Marco Tansini for the Tanzan Music label .
He’s been teaching modern guitar ,acoustic and electric, since 2009. He has continued his postgraduate studies in jazz with maestro Bebo Ferra.
